GURAIDROLL100 Explanation

Writer's picture: aplamodelaplamodel

Adopts a transfer system using PETG (plastic) made by 3D printer + coating body.

By moving the weight back and forth, the underwater posture changes and the fall changes. Since Eging often holds Egi while falling, I have been rotating Egis with different fall speeds for some time. I think it is also possible to use the approach of using shallow models (egi with slow fall speed) frequently and loading squid when the activity is low. Among the options of selecting egi for the terrain and approaching squid, I think the latter is by far the most effective. I have had the experience of getting a reaction from a slow fall speed egi to a deep model fast fall speed egi, and I think this is the fun of controlling the fall speed. Is it possible to vary the fall speed under such circumstances? This idea emerged during the testing stage.I realized that the balance between the center of gravity and the line eye position (point of effort) is very important for Egi, and I was able to work hard to find the balance. Another feature of this Glide Roll is its customizability, which allows you to fix the weight. If you fix it at the front of the wire variable range, you will get a deep type egi (fast fall speed), and if you stop the wire with the rear weight, you can make it a shallow model (slow fall speed) egi. However, if you repeat this, it will lead to the wire breaking, so be careful.

Although we had decided on the body at the time of the rough drawings, we started thinking about it based on the concept of stability when falling. I started thinking about the almost common "~" shape called Egi. We added the feature of a 3D printer to this and created a glide roll shape. The wing shape of the white part contributes to straightness and stability when falling. We also adjust the overhang length as it affects the fall angle, etc. I thought the crevices on the body were slits when wrapping the cloth, and were used to fill in the coating agent. It also has an effect on the action, causing lateral oscillation. It may be said that this effect has a synergistic effect with the effect of the square body. Although it is a glide roll transform system, there is a slight lateral sway due to the fall at the rear center of gravity. This will change depending on the line tension and usage environment, so I think it will be more interesting if you use it properly. The reason why the paint is white is for visibility, so it is easy to see at night or when the surface is cloudy.

The slit in the head part can be expected to have two effects: straightness and wire correction. If the wire is bent, there is a higher possibility of it falling and breaking, so if there is a slight bend, it is a good idea to align it with the line.

By the way, as a side note, I got a hint from the line carving and inking in Gunpla production.

Regarding body strength, we considered the coating method and procedure, and also considered durability, water resistance, and heat resistance. Above all, this took a long time, but the effects were great.

The umbrella needle is firmly fixed to the body. It's not impossible to replace it, but I don't recommend it. Glide rolls have a wide width, so there is a high possibility that you will be hooking them up and down more often. If the squid holds the egi from diagonally backward, it will also avoid hooking towards the tip of the eel as much as possible.

The paint is selected to prevent color fading as much as possible. Currently it is in a state where there is no need to worry about discoloration etc. We plan to add color in the future, but rather than color, glide roll is more about action.

With version 1.0, we have improved the accuracy of the body strength, fall stability, and weight wire shape changes.

2024/7 Version 1.1 update

The internal structure of the body has been changed through remodeling and performance has been improved. Compared to the previous model, the fall posture is stabilized by ensuring buoyancy. The bottom posture has been changed. *The bottom position is plane and parallel.
